Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the 8root Labs platform and services. By using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

8root Labs provides AI-powered construction intelligence software that processes building information models (IFC files) and construction documents (PDFs) to generate material quantity takeoffs and analytics.

2. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate and current information.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise the system
• Share account access with unauthorized users
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the service's source code
• Resell or redistribute the service without authorization

4. Your Data

You retain ownership of all files you upload and data you create using the service. We do not claim ownership of your content. You grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide and improve the service.

5. AI-Generated Output

The service uses artificial intelligence to generate quantity takeoffs and analytics. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated outputs should be reviewed by qualified professionals before use in production decisions. We do not guarantee that outputs are error-free.

6. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable, continuous service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime.

7. Fees and Payment

Pricing and payment terms are communicated separately based on your service plan. Early access and pilot programs may have specific terms agreed upon individually.

8. Intellectual Property

The service, including its technology, software, design, and documentation, is the intellectual property of 8root Labs. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except as necessary to use the service.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 8root Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate use of the service at any time. Upon termination, we will delete your data within 30 days unless legally required to retain it. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as liability limitations) shall continue.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Helsinki, Finland, unless otherwise agreed.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated to users with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
